Kobayashi at His Buffest

The picture above was taken at a Tokyo gym in 2007 or 2008 when Kobayashi was at or near his biggest, baddest and buffest. At this size he was super hot.  I love that even buffed up, he has cobbled abs and look at those traps!  I'd be happy to feed that muscle man.

The picture above, recently surfaced, of Kobayashi in 2007.  Check out the hotness of the man!  He had some serious quads, a small waist and a torso of an Adonis.  Seeing a most muscular pose from Kobayashi at his buffest point is awesome.  Love to imagine the strength in those arms.

The picture below, I've written about before, we can see the shear strength Kobayashi developed while he was training.  If I'm not mistaken, here he is dead lifting well over 800 pounds.  I count  1 50kg plate and 6 45lb plates plus what looks like a 25lb plate.  That's 110 + 270 + 25 = 405 pounds.  Double it for the equal number of plates on the other side of the bar and that IS 810 pounds.  Add the weight of the bar, generally 45 pounds and the guy, said to be 5'-7" or so, is dead lifting 855 pounds!

If he was about 180 pounds or so when this was taken, that means he is lifting 4.75x his own weight!  My God, that is strong!  When the photo was taken he was telling people he weighed 165 pounds.  If that was true he was lifting more than 5x his weight.  That is epic strength!

Even when I was bodybuilding, at a height of 5'-9" and a top off season weight of 205lbs, I couldn't dead lift more than 425 pounds.  This little Asian brute was more than 2x stronger than I ever was at a considerably lighter weight.  The man was a freaking muscle god, ever so worship worthy and sexy as hell!

The Rise and Fall of Takeru Kobayashi

There is no secret here that I am an admirer of the professional eater, Takeru Kobayashi.
What I admire about him is that over the course of his professional career he built himself up from 110 pounds to what I now think was close to 190 or 195 pounds of ripped muscle.  The picture of him below was taken in 2005 a few years after he had appeared on the professional eating scene.  I think he weighed around 135 or 140.

The picture above was taken in 2007.  Though he's all covered up, he probably weighed around 150 pounds.

The two pictures above were taken in 2008 when he just exploded with muscle.  The blurry picture of him in the tank top was taken at a gym in Tokyo and is of him about as big as he ever got.  The picture of him showing off his abs while flexing his arm was taken I think later the same year.  I think he may have weighed around around 180.

The picture above was taken in 2009.  I think that is when he was biggest and most muscular.  I think that he may have topped around 190 to 195 pounds.  I have seen pictures of him working out at that time where he is just massive and thick with dense lean muscle.  He was an Asian Adonis, just packed with powerful muscle.  Seriously sexy.

Then he developed his jaw problem.  It was translated as "arthritis" in the press here.  He lost the hot dog eating contest that year and hasn't won it since.  He also stopped his serious bodybuilding activity the same year.  He's been shrinking ever since.

The picture below was taken in 2010.  You can see that he's lost a considerable amount of weight.  He's still lean and ripped, but has lost the thick, massive appearance.

The picture above was taken in mid to late 2011.  Kobayashi is still super fit.  His physique is lean and ripped and attractive in a skinny muscle kind of way.  I'd kill for abs like his.  But he is even smaller than he was in 2010.  In a recent interview he said that he is 75 pound lighter than he was when he was at his biggest.  He claims to weigh 121 pounds now.  That confirms my supposition that at his biggest in 2008-2009 he got as big as 195 pounds.

I'm glad that he's healthy and he looks suprisingly hot at only 121 pounds.  But I do miss the massive, muscular Kobayashi.

Kobayashi Still Eating...Still Hot

Takeru Kobayshi isn't as thick and massive as he used to be, but this picture shows that he's still lean and muscular...and hot.  This picture was taken at a hot dog eating competition this weekend where he downed 49 dogs and buns in 10 minutes, to win the competition.  He's a hotty and he can eat.

Kobayashi Still Eating...Still Hot

My fascination with Takaru Kobayashi continues.  He isn't as big as he used to be.  Several years ago he'd bulked up to over 160 pounds, if memory serves.  Currently his official website lists his weight as 58kg, which is just shy of 128 pounds.  The photo above was taken yesterday after he had broken his own record, by eating 69 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes...besting Joey Chestnut's Nathan's contest winning 62.  But, more importantly, to me is that the guy's shredded and still has some nice muscle on his bones.  And he's still a hot, hot man!

Takeru Kobayashi Loses Mass But Still Hot

Famed competitive eater and general hottie, Takeru Kobayashi recently posed in denim for Sebastian Stan.  The picture will appear in VMEN #20.  He's lost quite a bit of mass in the last few years, but he's still a hottie!

Kobayashi Still Working Out

Kobayashi may have lost a good deal mass over the last 18 months or so. But he's still lifting! Here's a recent picture of him working out from his blog.

Look at those shoulders! Look at those biceps! And the chest ain't bad either. Hot stuff.

Kobayashi Still In The Hunt

Watched the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog eating contest on ESPN this morning. Kobayashi was still in the game. He and Chestnut both ate 59 dogs and buns in 10 minutes. After about 2 minutes of conferring between officials, they were both given 5 dogs and buns for an "eat off". He lost to Chestnut by just a fraction of a second.

His website lists his weight now at 75 kg, and he weighed in at 165 lbs. So he's two pounds lighter than last year. But he looks much leaner in the face and neck. At some point, I wish he'd release some more of his beefy muscle pics!

kobayashi and the press

kobayashi is on the right. i don't know the name of the hunk on the left. i find it interesting that the press can't seem to get kobayashi's size right. in the st. petersburg times there were recently two stories about kobayashi, who made a guest appearance at the tampa bay fan fest. in the first article, they asked him how he stayed so "skinny", to which he replied he weighed 76 kilos which he estimated at 150 pounds. it's actually 167 pounds. the reporter didn't do the math to check. a couple days later, in the same paper there was a story about kobayashi meeting one of the japanese players at the fan fest and the reporter said he weighed 132 pounds, which is the weight listed in the competitive eating federation bio.

but look at the guy! 150? 132? give me a break! i was figuring he weighed about 170 based on his recent pictures, pretty close to his actual current 167. i'm shocked that sports reporters who are always reporting on the height and weight of various athletes can't actually use their eyes and figure that 132 is maybe a little low. sheesh.

he's actually gained about 50 pounds since he first won the nathan's hot dog eating contest. hope he keeps it up. the bigger he gets the hotter and hunkier he is!

more takeru kobayashi

this guy just keeps getting better! and we finally get a good flexing shot!

in picture 1, just get a look at how his pecs are spreading, pushing outward past those flimsy shirt straps.

in picture 2, he's looking really thick. this guy looks just plain big.

in picture 3, he's flexing with a group from his gym. he's not as big as they are, but is certainly giving the others a run for their muscular money.

in picture 4, i've cropped and enlarged his image from picture 3. woof! just look at the size of his gun! that vein! his chest!

is it my imagination, or does he actually look bigger than he did in the pictures from last month?

i believe he got a sponsorship deal with golds gym in japan and with a dietary supplement company. he's started hanging with some serious japanese bodybuilders. i wonder if...dream about...he's training for a bodybuilding competition? wouldn't that be hot. would love to see this guy stripped to his posers flexing those growing muscles.

takeru kobayashi's getting bigger

the champion eater is continuing his training! i found these photos, dated 2007, 01/25. check out the guns on this guy! not to mention the shoulders and traps.... now if he'd just do some shirtless shots.

kobayashi in the gym

a news report profiling kobayashi with gym shots showing his muscle in tanktops:

you'll have to cut and paste...i'm having problems getting the link to function...and don't even talk to me about embeding the video!

it's worth it!

kobayashi lifts

takeru kobayashi, the competitive eater, is serious about lifting iron as well as dumplings. this picture is the most recent picture of the buff eating champ that i have found.

the picture is a bit dark, but it appears that he is deadlifting somewhere around 600 pounds. not bad considering he competes as an eater at around 160 pounds of bodyweight.

EDIT: a closer look at the photo in a photo editing program shows that he has a 50kg, six what look like 45 pounder's and, i think, a 25 pound plate on each side. if he's using a standard 45 pound bar, i think that means he's lifting 855 pounds! even if my math or interpretations are off, he's lifting somewhere between 600 and 855 pounds. for a guy of only 160 to 165 pounds, that is freaking amazing and sexy as hell.

in this shot, his chest and traps are just stunning in their size and density. his legs are also pretty sturdy looking.

if my estimate of the weight he's lifting is anywhere near correct, he is dead lifting 30% more weight than i ever did when i was training seriously...and i was 3" taller and 45 pounds heavier then than he is now. the STRENGTH and POWER this muscle man has, packed into such a ripped and compact package is just amazing to me. it's seriously hot...fabulously sexy to see that kind of muscle and power on a smaller guy.

EDIT: if my revised estimate of the weight he's lifting is correct, he is lifting almost twice what i was ever capable of dead lifting in my very best shape. just the thought of a shorter guy, whom i outweigh by 40 or 45 pounds of muscle being THAT much stronger than me...almost double my strength is so hot! what would it be like to wrestle with him or arm wrestle him? he could just toy with me like a cat with a mouse...only the mouse would have all the strength!

i'll keep scowering the net for pictures of this hottest of muscle men.

takeru kobayashi

takeru kobayashi is the world champion hot dog eater...he's won the nathan's hot dog eating contest for 6 straight years now.

doesn't look like a trencherman, does he.

he's 5'-7" tall and weighed in at 160 pounds. the picture on the top shows him this year. the picture on the bottom shows him last year. hard to tell, but his arms look bigger this year.

i love a short, ripped, muscle man that likes to show off! and this guy will flex at the drop of a hot dog. or pork bun.
